ACCOLADES CONTINUE TO FLOW FOR LEADING LOCALLY BASED AGED CARE PROVIDER
Anglican Care’s vision to create an environment where “Every Moment Matters” is true not only just for residents and consumers but also for the loyal and committed staff members, who provide care and support to our residents and consumers each and every day.
This commitment has been rewarded yet again, with three State Award nominations from Aged & Community Services Australia, the peak body and voice for not-for-profit aged care service providers.
The three award nominations are significant for the Hunter based organisation, with Anglican Care going head to head with well-known and highly credentialed National providers.
Anglican Care will take on competitors in the following categories:
Aged Care Provider of the Year
Employee of the Year – Ms Chris Giles
Lifetime Achievement Award – Mr John Kilpatrick AM

Aged Care Provider of the Year recognises a provider who demonstrates outstanding leadership, management, workforce culture, innovation, communication and general excellence in the sector.
Anglican Care is one of the Hunter’s largest; most innovative community and aged care providers and is the aged care division of the Anglican Diocese of Newcastle. With a portfolio of residential aged care homes, community and home care services and retirement living developments, Anglican Care have over 900 staff located at facilities and services in Newcastle, the Central Coast, the Manning and Great Lakes regions.
- Employee of the Year recognises the dedication and contribution of an individual employee in the delivery of services to older people.
Ms Chris Giles is the General Manager, Community Care Services at Anglican Care. Ms Giles epitomises professional integrity and ethical conduct and is well respected for her innovation and leadership. She is a leader who never fails to inspire and encourages colleagues and employees alike. Her work with elderly people living in the community is entirely focussed on the person, their rights and their dignity.
Lifetime Achievement Award –recognises an individual who has worked in the delivery of services to older people for a minimum of ten years, celebrating their outstanding achievements and contribution to the betterment of the aged care industry.
Mr John Kilpatrick AM is no stranger to anyone in the Hunter; having only retired as Chair of Anglican Care in February 2018 following an amazing 47 years as Chairman.
The winners will be announced on Thursday July 26 at Doltone House in Sydney.
