This Harmony day, Anglican Care will hold a BBQ to celebrate the diverse characteristics that make them the dynamic community based organisation it is today.
Our residents and consumers have a variety of interest, customs, beliefs and backgrounds and it is this diversity that makes Anglican Care such a great organisation. Together with respecting everyone who calls Australia home – Harmony Day for Anglican Care is also about celebrating all that makes our residents and consumers the wonderfully unique people they are.
To officially kick-off Harmony Day, Anglican Care will hold a ‘Masterchef’ style boss cook-off between CEO, Mr Colin Osborne, and General Manager Property Services, Gerard Bowen. With a menu that matches the occasion, Mr Osborne will be cooking crocodile for residents while Mr Bowen will be putting his meatballs recipe to the test with the discerning crowd.
Mr Colin Osborne said it was important for Anglican Care to celebrate its values of equality, authenticity and inclusivity.
“Our residents and consumers come from all religions, cultures and backgrounds, and just because they now reside in an aged care facility doesn’t mean those characteristics or qualities that make them who they are, should change.
“We embrace all that makes our residents and consumers unique and we work hard to cater for their specific needs,” Mr Osborne said.
The media is welcome to attend the BBQ, which will take place at Anglican Care’s Jesmond facility. The details include:
Date: Friday 24th March 2017
Time: 10.30am
Location: Jesmond Grove (Top Courtyard) – 101 Mordue Parade, Jesmond
Anglican Care’s CEO Mr Colin Osborne will also be available for interviews about Harmony Day prior to the event. For more information or to arrange a suitable time, please contact:
